Our Story

Ancient Candle Co. was born from a love of fine art and interior style.

It was during the first Covid lockdowns in 2020 that our founder Yvette Hardy discovered, (while styling her own home) that it was almost impossible to find high quality sculptural candles. Pieces that not only enhanced the mood in your space when lit, but were also aesthetically pleasing in their un-lit state.

The Inspiration

Drawing on her family’s background in fine art and sculpture—her husband, Liam Hardy, is a renowned figurative bronze artist and the founding director of Sculpt Studios—Yvette designed the ‘La Femme’ torso candle, our brand’s inaugural piece.

The Collection

This launch paved the way for the creation of three additional figures in our signature torso range: the ‘L’Homme’ male torso, the ‘Modest Femme’, and the ‘La Mére’ pregnancy candle. These pieces, together with our ceramic-inspired contemporary candles and larger Ancient bust figures, constitute the debut series of the ACC collection. We continuously innovate, with new styles always in the pipeline.
